Abstract
Pyruvate dehydrogenase complexes of bacterial origin are compared with respect to subunit composition, organization of the corresponding gen es, and the number and location of lipoyl domains. Special attention i s given to two unusual examples of pyruvate dehydrogenase complexes, f ormed by Zymomonas mobilis and Thiobacillus ferrooxidans. (C) 1998 Els evier Science B.V.
