Abstract
The present paper gives an account of investigations of the polarizabi lity of the alkali atoms Li, Na, diatomics homonuclear and heteronucle ar Li-2, Na-2 and NaLi at SCF (Self Consistent Field) level of approxi mation and at correlated level, using a time Time-Dependent Gauge Inva riant method (TDGI). Our static polarizability values agree with the b est experimental and theoretical determinations. The Van der Waals C-6 coefficients for the atom-atom, atom-dimer and dimer-dimer interactio ns have been evaluated.
