CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE TREATMENT OF THE INJURED ATHLETE

This article discusses the significance that contusions, fractures, or ligament injuries (involving the small bones, joints, and soft tissue s of the forearm, wrist, or hand) can have on the athlete. The concern for proper management of upper-extremity injuries is addressed in ord er to decrease the possibility of long-term functional consequences fo r the athlete.
