Abstract
From a nonlinear integral equation modelling cell proliferation, two o ther formulations are first proposed. One of them leads to a delay dif ferential equation with values in a Banach space to which the theory o f abstract delay differential equations is applied. Specific features of the equation are shown to entail interesting formulae for the dual product and the fundamental solution. Finally, preliminary steps are m ade in the study of what seems to be a Hopf bifurcation.
