Abstract
High-resolution spectra of (H2O)-O-16 were recorded with a Fourier-tra nsform spectrometer covering transitions in the (100)-(010), (001)-(01 0)), (100)-(000), and (001)-(000) bands. The measured line frequencies were used to determine high-accuracy values of rotational energy leve ls in the (100) and (001) vibrational states. Measurements of the line strengths were fitted to a model in which 19 transition moment parame ters were determined for the B-type bands and 8 parameters for the A-t ype bands. The fitting technique did not consider interactions between the (020), (100), and (001) vibrational states. The experimental resu lts provide a more accurate representation of the line positions and s trengths than those available at present for these bands.
