Abstract
A study of the ruthenium(IV) and (III) species in HCl solution under m icrowave irradiation shows a decrease in hydrolysis time, depolymerisa tion and reduction of ruthenium(IV) to ruthenium(III) by an order of m agnitude, as compared with conventional heating of solutions in a boil ing water bath.
