Abstract
Optical absorption spectra of Cr3+ ions in fluorozirconate and fluoro- chlorozirconate glasses show features associated with Fano antiresonan ces due to the interaction between the E-2 and T-2(1) sharp levels and the vibrationally broadened T-4(2) quasicontinuum. The absorption spe ctra have been analyzed in terms of the Fano theory adapted by Sturge, Guggenheim and Pryce. The simulations show an increase of the q and p parameters and a decrease of the antiresonance line width from the fl uorozirconate to the fluoro-chlorozirconate glass.
