Abstract
We investigate the standard model Higgs decays into heavy quarkonia J/ psi and Y in both colour-singlet and colour-octet mechanisms. It is fo und that in J/psi production the contribution through colour-octet pro cesses overwhelm that in colour-singlet processes in the intermediate region M-Z < M-H0 < 2M(W) and the fraction ratio is comparatively larg e, but in Y production the contribution through the colour-octet mecha nism is negligible.
