Abstract
The level properties of Xe-124 have been studied through the Te-123(al pha, 3n) reaction using in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopic techniques. A comparative analysis of the theoretical studies of the band structure of Xe-124 and similar transitional nuclei within the frameworks of the cranked shell model and cranked Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism has been performed to extract information about the non-axial deformation parameter (gamma).
