ACCESS NETWORK AND EDGE NODE SYSTEMS FOR NEXT-GENERATION COMPUTER-NETWORKS

Owing to the rapid spread of WWW technology, the number of home and bu siness users on the Internet has increased dramatically. However, ther e are serious problems with the performance of conventional routers, a nd with the network architecture. We have proposed a network architect ure that consists of a core network, access networks and edge nodes, r oute servers, and a management network for the next generation compute r network. In this paper, we describe the key technologies of the acce ss network equipments and the edge nodes, which play important roles i n the GMN-CL.
