The paper studies the convergence of the variational method of local p
otential used to determine the stationary states of macrodynamics syst
ems. Ordinary differential equations of macrodynamics with balanced ki
netic functions are considered as well as the systems for which the pr
operty of balance or detailed balance is satisfied with a certain pert
urbation. It is shown that with the correct choice of a parameter, the
method of local potential converges to a stationary state of the syst
em at the first step. The conditions found in the paper guarantee the
convergence of the method while imposing less restrictions on the para
meters of the system than the conditions known before. These results c
an be used for a numerical analysis of control systems that can be des
cribed by macrodynamics equations.
