POLY(ARYLETHER OXAZOLE)S AND POLY(ARYLETHER THIAZOLE)S WITH PENDENT TRIFLUOROMETHYL GROUPS

Bis(oxazolyl)benzenes and bis(thiazolyl)benzenes containing fluorine a toms and trifluoromethyl groups in the heteroaromatic moieties have be en synthesized. These compounds can be used as monomers for the prepar ation of poly(arylether oxazole)s and poly(arylether thiazole)s with p endent trifluoromethyl groups, The high reactivity of the new oxazole monomers is demonstrated by the synthesis of the corresponding poly(ar ylene ethers) under extremely mild reaction conditions.
