Abstract
A new approach to the classical description of atom-molecule collision s is investigated. It is based on the random choice of the initial con ditions in coordinates and the momenta. Comparison with quantum analys is is made and it is found to be very good for transitions from the gr ound state, whilst from the excited states the classical theory gives good results at higher collision energies.
