Abstract
Critical Flicker Fusion Threshold (CFFT) is now a well established mea sure in psychopharmacological research in both volunteer and patient p opulations. This paper examines some of the theoretical aspects of CFF T which investigators should be aware of, and the role of CFFT in psyc hopharmacological research. It also explores the anatomical and neurop hysiological basis of CFFT measurement and discusses the possible appl ication of CFFT as a simple means of detecting early Alzheimer's disea se.
