Abstract
The monotypic genus Arthophacopsis is described to accomodate the lich enicolous Arthophacopsis parmeliarum growing exclusively on species of Parmelia s, str The new genus is founded on the very peculiar charact er combination discocarp ascomata, fissitunicate asci and non-septate ascospores and it is placed in the Arthoniales. Celidium tabescens Anz i is reduced to the synonymy of Nesolechia oxyspora. A key to fungi gr owing on Parmelia s. str is given.
