hyllachorales), a new species of non-lichenized lichenicolous fungi, i
s described from Papua New Guinea, where it grows on iMenegazzia sp. I
t is distinguished from L. clauzadei Nav.-Ros., Cl. Roux et Llimona by
ascomata developing in strongly convex, gall-like deformations of the
host thallus, an excipulum with numerous hyphoid appendices, longer (
3)5-septate spores, (38)39-43. 5-48.5(49.5) x 6.5-7.1-8 mu m, which ar
e cylindrical, rounded at both ends, with one apical cell smaller than
the other cells.
