Su. Jen et al., SATURATION MOMENT, SPECIFIC-HEAT, AND TRANSPORT-PROPERTIES OF DISORDERED CO100-XPTX ALLOYS, Physical review. B, Condensed matter, 48(17), 1993, pp. 12789-12794
A series of Co100-xPtx alloys were made in an induction furnace. To ma
ke the the alloys in a disordered state, they were heated up to 950-de
grees-C, and then quenched in salt water. Experimental quantities meas
ured include saturation moment, specific heat, residual resistivity, a
nd anisotropic magnetoresistance at low temperatures. By comparing tho
se data with those for the Fe100-xCrx, Fe100-xMox, Fe100-xWx, Co100-xN
ix, and Co100-xPdx alloys, we are able to have a complete discussion f
rom the framework of the split-band model. For Co-Pt alloys, the elect
ronic-specific-heat coefficient has no minimum, and the anisotropic ma
gnetoresistance shows no global maximum either.
