Abstract
The matter under discussion is the effect of the softening of the elas tic constants on the metamagnetic transition in CeRu2Si2. In the prece ding Comment it is argued that some assumptions used in our original p aper are theoretically unjustified. However, keeping in mind the exper imental evidence for our assumptions, our feeling is that what is need ed is a more sophisticated theory.
