The classical antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model on the triangular lat
tice is studied using Monte Carlo techniques. The behavior of the anti
ferromagnetic structure factor, antiferromagnetic correlation length,
and spin stiffness at low temperatures is consistent with recent low-t
emperature renormalization-group predictions based on a nonlinear sigm
a model (NLsigma) description of the system. Our results support the v
alidity of the NLsigma model approach to the study of frustrated syste
ms.
