Abstract
Art atomization model for plain-orifice diesel fuel sprays is develope d. It considers both turbulent fluctuation in the jet flow and wave gr owth by gas inertia force due to the jet velocity. The atomization mod el developed is implemented as a module into the KIVA code in terms of the primary and secondary drop parcels. The computation results are i n good agreement with the experimental data for the drop size distribu tion as well as the spray tip penetration and the spray shape.
