Abstract
Hispanic female business owners were profiled in this exploratory stud y, with specific attention paid to gender as a differentiating factor. The study is based on 452 Hispanic business owners from 15 major Metr opolitan Statistical and Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Al-ens in eight states. Differences and similarities between the two gender g roups were identified and discussed with respect to personal backgroun d, business organizational characteristics, financial performance indi cators, business growth stages, and a broad spectrum of perceived busi ness problems and information sources.
