Abstract
2,6-Bis(triisopropylsilyl)pyridine (1) has been synthesized from 2,6-d ibromopyridine. It is a very weak base in water since it does nor diss olve in 6N hydrochloric acid but does undergo protonation in nonaqueou s media by triflic acid. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. Ali rights res erved.
