Abstract
The CoS2 and NiS2 pyrites were investigated by means of near infra red and visible spectroscopies. The high resolution of these spectroscopi es in the energy range of 1-6 eV allows us to locate and evaluate expe rimentally both the position and the energetic expansion of the metal- 3d orbitals in agreement with the theoretical proposals.
