Abstract
This paper reviews an experimental investigation aimed at studying the effects of cold forming on thin gauge mild steel. The main objectives of the investigation were to study the effects that cold forming has on material properties and also to attempt to obtain these changes usi ng an experimental approach different to that which has been carried o ut in previous research. The experimental work carried out used a stan dard Hardness Test approach to determine local yield and ultimate tens ile strength at cold formed corners. The results are presented in tabu lar and graphical form. A comparison of the experimental results and t hose from two design code approaches are also presented. (C) 1998 Else vier Science Ltd.
