The aim of the project is to study the bending fatigue properties of o
ne kind of webbing under multiaxial dynamic loading in order to determ
ine its maximum durability and longest useful lifetime. The study uses
a dynamic fatiguing test machine, and the varying test parameters are
camber radius and pulley diameter, the safety factor of the webbing,
and bending frequency. The influence of the different test parameters
on the final temperature of the webbing is also considered. In additio
n to the bending fatigue properties, another object of the study is to
determine the residual strength of the webbing after increased bendin
gs and for different safety factors. Pulley diameter and safety factor
s have the most important influence on the long-term reliability of we
bbing. By using big pulleys and high safety factors, the final tempera
ture of the webbing is held at a low level due to insignificant moveme
nt of the fibers and yarns in the webbing (low friction).
