Abstract
Recent studies on the quality of lunch at day-care centres are primari ly concerned with the nutritional quality of the dishes. Joint meals, however, have an important function also in the nutritional socializat ion and education of the children. Results of an empirical study, and extensive literature searches on the eating behaviour of children and the way it may be influenced have shown the potential which joint meal s at day-care centres have for the children's education, and how to us e it in a modern pedagogic way.
