Abstract
The early permian reef belt is distributed in the southern side of eas tern Kunlun, north area of Qinghai-Tiber Plateau. The core-reef facies of the reef extends from Tuosuo Lake to Huashixia. Lots of reef brecc ia was found at the southern slope of the core-reef bell, and to the n orth of the reef belt there is hack-reef limestone. Cacisponges, hydro zoa, bryozoa, Tabulozoa, Tubiphytes and red algae are the main frame-b uilding organisms. Archaeolithoporella, laminated blue-green algaes, T abulozoa and Tubiphytes played a role of binding or encrustating. Ther e are many kinds of epibiont in the reef, including brachiopod, gaster opod, foraminifera, echinoderm and simple coral. The type and the char acteristics of the reef-building organisms in eastern Kunlun and Anima qing are basically the same as those in the south of China.
