Abstract
This review aimed to determine the benefits-risks ratio of postoperati ve analgesia. The various agents usually used for intravenous postoper ative analgesia (paracetamol, NSAID's, opioids), and the techniques fo r postoperative analgesia (PCA, epidural, perinervous block) are analy sed. The rules proposed for the monitoring of postoperative analgesia are considered. (C) 1998 Elsevier, Paris.
