Abstract
Eight polar steroids were identified from nine species of ophiuroids. Seven polyhydroxylated steroids were isolated from the sea lily Heliom etra a glacialis maxima. The relationship between compositions of pola r steroid fractions in ophiuroids and systematic positions of the anim als are discussed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Inc. All rights reserved.
