Abstract
A novel approach for the design of robust controllers for discrete-tim e uncertain systems using a multiplier approach is given. Our algorith m is based on a k(m)/mu-synthesis type iteration involving a search fo r suitable multipliers and solving scaled H-infinity optimization prob lems. The latter problems involve only the original plant data and the scalings are computed via standard spectral factorizations from the m ultiplier. The design is performed entirely in the discrete-time domai n and the results can be used for multiobjective control design (Tcher nychev and Sideris, 1997). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
