Abstract
The dependence of the F centre generation kinetics in KBr under XeCl e xcimer laser irradiation in the temperature region from 90 to 370 K ha s been investigated. The initial coloration rate as well as the equili brium colour centre density vary nonmonotonously with temperature, bei ng maximal between 170 to 270 K. The results are interpreted in terms of a model, formerly developed by the authors, assuming that the laser coloration kinetics is determined by an interplay between two-quantum coloration and one-quantum bleaching action of the irradiation.
