Abstract
We solve the non-minimally coupled Dirac equation for a particle with an anomalous magnetic moment in the presence of a plane electromagneti c wave, directly and from first principles. The exact wavefunction, ob tained in this way, is shown to reduce to the Volkov state when the pa rticle's anomaly is set equal to zero. Other limiting cases are also c onsidered and their importance is pointed out.
