Abstract
A model, based on universal properties of high-T-c superconductors onl y, is presented for the transport characteristics of grain boundaries in these materials. The model accounts for the superconducting as well as for the normal-state transport properties observed in a comprehens ive study of YBa2Cu3O7-delta [001]-tilt bicrystalline grain boundaries with varying misorientation angles and of two different symmetries.
