Abstract
The anatomy and chemistry of Lecanora flavopallida indicate that this corticolous species differs from the taxa of the Lecanora subfusca gro up in having almost biatorine apothecia and in lacking an amphithecial cortex. However, it is regarded here as a species of Lecanora sensu s tricto, since it agrees basically in its apothecial anatomy and conidi al shape. The circumscription of Lecanora sensu stricto is briefly dis cussed. Lecanora glaucoflavens Mull. Arg. and L. lineolata Mull. Arg. are reduced to synonymy with L. flavopallida.
