We re port a ease of fatal necrotizing fasciitis caused by an accidental too thpick injury-a unique injury mechanism not reported this far to cause necrotizing fasciitis. Although toothpick injuries are usually regard ed as trivial, it should be kept in mind that they have the potential to cause such a lethal infection.
