BIOCATALYSIS IN THE GAS-PHASE

The biocatalysis of substrates in the gas phase may offer advantages o ver many conventional solution-based reactions, both in analytical dev ices and in bioreactors designed to accommodate this new technology. T o date, however, the range of substrates for which gas-phase biocataly sis has been shown to be suitable is limited. Further research is requ ired to establish the parameters that affect the kinetics and producti vity of such systems.
