The oxygen permeation current density through La0.75Ca0.25CrO3-delta w
as calculated as a function of the oxygen partial pressure gradient us
ing a random point defect model. The oxygen permeation current density
depends on the oxygen partial pressure at the low oxygen partial pres
sure side as J(O2-) is-proportional-to P(O2)-0.5 when the nonstoichiom
etry of the perovskite at that side is small. The oxygen permeation cu
rrent density is independent of the oxygen partial pressure at the hig
h oxygen partial pressure side when the nonstoichiometry of the perovs
kite at that side is small in comparison with the nonstoichiometry at
the low oxygen partial pressure side. The result of this calculation d
escribes also the Electrochemical Vapor Deposition process of this typ
e of perovskite material.
