Zj. Li et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF STRUCTURAL AND SURFACE-PROPERTIES OF ACTIVATED CARBON-FIBERS, Journal of colloid and interface science (Print), 204(1), 1998, pp. 151-156
Nitrogen adsorption isotherms on activated carbon fibers (ACFs) were m
easured at 77.3 K in the relative pressure range from 10(-7) to 0.995.
The low relative pressure data are examined in detail in order to cha
racterize the microporosity and the surface heterogeneity of the sampl
es studied. The pore structure of ACFs was studied by using the ct, pl
ot and DFT methods. Adsorption potential and adsorption energy distrib
utions were also calculated. The results showed that ACFs are highly m
icroporous and in some cases contain small mesopores (2-4 nm). ACFs ex
hibit a significant structural and energetic heterogeneity. (C) 1998 A
