Aa. Batabyal, LAND-DEVELOPMENT AND PRESERVATION OVER TIME AND UNDER UNCERTAINTY - AREVIEW AND A RESEARCH AGENDA, Ecological economics, 25(3), 1998, pp. 233-238
The combination of a rising interest in sustainable natural resource u
se and the increasingly fractious nature of the interactions between d
evelopers and preservationists has led to renewed interest in the ques
tion of appropriate natural resource management. In this paper I consi
der the question of land development and preservation over time and un
der uncertainty. I first review the extant literature and then I discu
ss its shortcomings. Next, I propose a research agenda which will enab
le us to shed light on some important management questions faced by la
nd developers. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
