Abstract
We present the design of a new type of instrument to measure small dop pler shifts in spectral lines. Our instrument is a form of Heterodyned , Holographic Spectrometer, here optimized for high photon efficiency. It should be suitable for the measurement of solar or stellar oscilla tions, which is our primary goal, or in the search for stellar-planeta ry systems.
