Abstract
The years following German reunification have provoked a wave of viole nce against foreigners and right-extremist incidents which are without parallel in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany. This pape r proposes a crisis theory approach which is based on my conception of authoritarion reaction. Three studies conducted between 1991 and 1995 provide the empirical evidence.
