This article explores ways in which the concept of French Feminism is
reflected on the Internet, and is therefore a corollary to Christine D
elphy's ''The Invention of French Feminism: An Essential Move''. Our r
esearch shows that the tendencies noted by Delphy for texts relating t
o French Feminism published in printed form, in terms of how frequentl
y certain names of authors and the titles of their works appear, are a
lso manifested on the Internet, in fact exaggeratedly so, and even to
the point of becoming caricaturized on the electronic bulletin board k
nown as the French Feminist List. The limited network access currently
available to feminists working in France means that they have little
opportunity to redress the situation, and will have to rely on America
n feminists to challenge the concept of French Feminism which is emerg
ing on the Internet.
