Abstract
A detailed bathymetric survey carried out in the vicinity of the Bay o f Biscay fossil triple junction and available multibeam data have been used to produce a new bathymetric map of the western Bay of Biscay. F rom these documents, we have clearly identified the Iberia-Europe plat e boundary which was active during the pyrenean orogenic phase and det ermined the total extension which occurred between the two plates in t he western Bay of Biscay.
