Abstract
The Po-210 Content of fumarolic gases at Vulcano decreased by a factor of 100 in the hottest fumaroles in June 1993, compared to the last me asurement, in January 1992, and by a factor of 5 to 30 in the other fu maroles. The Rn-222 content is also lower (about 2/3). These variation s can be due to the vanishing of both sources of Po-210: a magnetic co mponent (which accounts for about 1/3 Rn-222 and old sublimates deposi ted along the gas paths.
