Carpological remains belonging to 36 species from 27 families are desc
ribed from the Calau Beds in Brandenburg. They are proof of Mixed Meso
phytic Forests as well as aquatic and marshland communities of largely
eastern Asiatic affinities. The palaeoclimate is considered to have b
