Allergic rhinitis remains an important problem that affects people of
all ages. Although allergic rhinitis is considered a trivial disease b
y the public and medical community alike, the evidence of allergic rhi
nitis as a risk factor to the development of associated diseases such
as asthma, sinusitis, otitis media with effusion, and nasal polyps is
better appreciated. Pathophysiology and current therapy of allergic rh
initis is reviewed.
