Abstract
Two new diterpene glycosides, eta-D-xylopyranosyl-ent-8beta-hydroxylab dan-15-oic acid [1) and -beta-D-glucopyranosyl-ent-85-hydroxylabdan-15 -oic acid [2], were isolated from Heterothalamus alienus. Their struct ures were elucidated by nmr spectroscopy, and their absolute configura tions were determined by tranformation of both natural products into m ethyl ent-8beta-hydroxylabdan-15-oate. The sugar residues were identif ied after acid hydrolyses of the two natural products.
