Abstract
Although several approaches already exist for the imaging of inflammat ory foci, new specific strategies providing functional data on the les ions are required to determine the extent of the disease and also to a ssess anti-inflammatory treatment. In our study, we investigated the s cintigraphic potential of Tc-99m-J001X, an agent developed for the tar geting of macrophages. Due to its well documented and progressive evol ution of lesions, a model of radiation-induced inflammation in pigs wa s chosen. Our results demonstrated the ability of J001X to provide ima ges of inflammatory foci with a high contrast. The contribution of som e specific and non-specific parameters possibly involved in the scinti graphic behavior of J001X is discussed.
