Xc. Zeng et al., THE EFFECT OF MIXED MICELLES OF SURFACTANTS ON THE ALKALINE-HYDROLYSIS OF DIMETHYLFORMAMIDE, Journal of dispersion science and technology, 19(5), 1998, pp. 591-598
The alkaline hydrolysis of dimethylformamide has been studied at 40 de
grees C in mixed micelles of surfactants (CTAB-Brij35, SDS-Brij35, CTA
B--BHMI, SDS-BHMI, Brij35-BHMI) and functional molecule 1-benzyl-2-hyd
roxymethylimidazole (BHMI) solutions with analog thermogram method of
thermokinetics. The kinetic parameters k(m) in micellar pseudophase, r
ate constant k(f) in functional molecular solution, and the associatio
n constant of reactant with micelle K-1, with functional molecule K, h
ave been calculated fram kinetic equations of mixed micellar catalysis
in the case of [S]>[M]. The results indicate that all the researched
systems exhibit catalytic effect on the reaction. Polarity and local c
oncentration effect were employed to explain these phenomena. A mechan
ism of catalysis of BHMI and mixed micelles of a surfactant and BHMI w
as proposed.
