WHAT IS A VECTOR HANKEL DETERMINANT

In this paper, a Hankel determinant whose entries belong to a real fin ite dimensional vector space is defined. Such a Hankel determinant app ears, purely as a computational process result (lacking of any propert y), in the algebraic approach to the vector E-algorithm and in the the ory of vector orthogonal polynomials. The aim of this paper is to give an independent study of these determinants, involving their fundament al algebraic properties. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Inc. All rights res erved.
